I think he's a better defensive option that Bradley, but MB is more versatile (Ability to get forward, create, and defend).

Which opens up the debate. What would be more effective if we remain adamant about staying in a 4-4-2.

Bradley and Holden or Jones and Holden.

Having all three fit at the same time will give us a lot more tactical leeway. At this point, I think Bradley would be ahead of Holden, with Jones ahead of Edu. The combo of Holden and Bradley would be really interesting, which might harken back to the days of having 2 B2B CM's playing next to each other, since both have good workrate and passing. It might be possible that we could run a three man midfield effectively, depending on what options we have upfront and on the wings.

All you're doing is switching the roles.

Bradley cleans up and Holden is allowed to express himself going forward.

Though, the argument could be made that Holden and Bradley are more similar than Jones and Bradley, and both could play either role. If you're going to make that argument, I'd prefer Jones and Bradley because the roles are more delineated.

Two players who play exactly the same way have a tendency to either both go forward or both go back at the same time.

You see this with Chelsea, when either Mikel, Ramires or Essien play together. They were way too similar in style to put two of them on the field together. Don't know why Ancelotti could never figure that out.
