we weren't good enough to make the SEC tourney, but by all means just put us in the tourney.

the NCAA selected oklahoma state last year, despite them not making the big 12 tourney. they also selected mississippi state in 2006 despite them not making the SEC tourney

Or let's just give another team 4 games above .500 with a losing conference record and worse RPI than LSU a 2 seed
