LINK from the advocate

quote:

Scivicque, the Class B MVP and a recent Southwest Mississippi Community College signee, went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs batted in. He also got the save in a 10-9 victory for the East All-Stars.

quote:

Scivicque was named the MVP of the weekend by the coaches after going a combined 4-for-5, the one blemish to his batting average coming when he reached base on an error.

Catcher who pitched a little. Batted like .600 on the year. 60 something RBIs in 26-28 games. Going off what I'm being told so I don't know the actual stats. I just know mainari went and spoke to him after the game. He signed his LOI with southwest CC. how easy is it to get out of a community college commitment?

I don't know how easy it is to get out of a community college commitment but I've seen this kid play a few games and his legit. He hit for the cycle in one of his playoff games. LSU definitely needs to jump on him after all the problems they've had this year with catchers hitting.

Not D-1 material as a pitcher but he can hit. I don't think LSU caliber but probably more SLU

Saw him play at the Oak Hill Tourny back in February and he hit to bombs out in the Friday action. Maurepas played a tough schedule for a Class B school.

I know the knock on the lower classification guys is they don't see the same level of pitching all the time as 4 and 5A guys and I agree. But, Lsu had a great one a few years ago from Oak Hill in J.C. Holt and we all know how that turned out.

No doubt he's a catcher at the college level.

I'm not gonna jump and say Gibbs like some rantards would, but it will be nice to have a catcher who can hit. If he can translate.

I know the kid, coached him and have been around him his whole career. He has all the intangibles and is like having a coach on the field... He's absolutely one of the best players Class B has seen in a while.

I'm not sure he's LSU material YET. He'll get a lot better and more athletic at the JUCO and who nows his ceiling.
