Good show... sorta like "Swamp People" but with a British accent.

Marathon of it on now, may as well have it playing while picking up around the house. Anyone else like/routinely watch this show?

PS, I do find it rather odd/ridiculous to listen to this wealthy Westerner dude get all preachy (about conservation and release of all caught fish) to the 3rd-Worlder types who help him land them, and who probably haven't had a good meal in a few days or so...

...in the episode that just went off, it looked like they were about to beat him to within an inch of his life if he let this huge-arse fish go.

I like the show too. It's like monsterquest in a way. I jut wish they wouldn't grossly exaggerate the size of the fish they are realistically going to catch. It's a cool show though.

There are some scary large creatures in some of this world's waters. The large alligator gar that he caught recently reminded me of one we hooked years ago when I was a kid...it was too big to put in the boat so we strapped it to the side and slowly made it back to the landing. We gave the fish to some older black fellow that was there...he thought he won the lottery.

...except here, we actually get a glimpse of half the stuff they're talking about!

I don't think that that's fair. I've watched many an episode, and while they often quote records, or tell how big a fish can get, I don't recall them ever once saying that they'll show us one that big.

And even then, sometimes they get lucky-- for example, one of the Zambezi sharks he caught on film turned out to be the 2nd-largest ever recorded in Africa.
