In all my years in La, I know exactly one person that has been bitten by a gator. It was a little one my brother and I were keeping as a pet and my bro set him down on some hot pavement. Gator freaked out and when he went to pick him back up he bit him on the hand.

Other then that, no one. And lets just say I have been in close contact with a few gators.

Yeah growing up in LA, I never really feared gators, but I did respect their habitat. However, after spending some time in Australia, I fear their salt water crocs. We are a meal to them. They hunt for people.

They are only shooting animals that could potentially damage the levee system as in,hogs, nutria, etc. Of course if a copper-mouth rattle moccasin came slithering up its fate would be sealed just as it would in any other scenario.
