Then you go to jail for attempted murder or if they bleed out like most people shot in the leg, murder. Still a lose lose for you.

Shoot to kill. Dead men tell no tales and it will be a one sided story If someone breaks in and you are inside it wouldn't be too hard to claim fear for your life. However if you come home and the door is kicked in and you enter it will be a bit harder. Pretty much the way our concealed carry class explained it.
