Google Street view

Happened to be looking at Google street view for a non-related matter (noticed the new jeep commercial using the bonnet Carre in their commercial) and noticed it looked like the pictures showed the area extremely flooded. Didn't know if these pictures were taken in the last two/three days of if it was just a time when the water would have been high.

just dropped a pin along 61 and where the dock is on the lower guide levee and I-10 (the part with the chain link fence)

fightin... thats exactly what it looks like right now so i would say that pic was taken either yesterday or today on google maps... the water is really close to the top...

also... they just cut the levees today and I see the mowers in the pics... here are a couple of pics i took coming over the spillway bridge into laplace yesterday...

Is google taking daily pictures because of the flood situation? They dont normally update more than once in a blue moon

I know they have been in the area over the last month or so. Talked to one of the drivers in Port Vincent last week and he said it takes a few weeks to upload normally. Guess they can expedite that stuff pretty quick since most of the BR area isn't updated yet.
