HOLY shite look at the gap b/w the barge and the bottom contour. Hopefully the Chene won't have enough CFS coming through it to undermine. Can anyone verify where this barge is supposed to be placed? Also I am assuming that they plan on closing the locks on the intracoastal at the Atchafalaya since this would all be for naught without doing that.

Judging by the red arrow on that map the barge would be sunk south of the intracoastal at a point where flooding south of it wouldn't matter. Sure it would close of bayou chene from back feeding the intracoastal from the south if the water would even do that and if the locks are closed that would stop water from the west but it does nothing to stop the water coming from Lake Palourde from moving east. It will actually stop that water from draining south and force it east to Houma
Help me out as I am not seeing the logic in this project.
