Does he even know anything about deer? You pattern them or try to predict where they might be moving through and set up near it and wait. Natural feeding grounds? It's not like they make there way to some giant green pasture every day and you can sneak up on them or something Theres food everywhere in the woods. Hunting oak trees and things like that helps definitely, but I find you have a better chance of finding a trophy by hunting the terrain they'll pass through rather than sitting on a food source all day
