How many games do they have to win to make it to a regional? I am assuming that even if they win it, they will not host. (see last year)

If they make the SEC tournament, they are in a regional.

We are 25-17 as of this morning.

To make the SEC tourney LSU will need to win at least 9 Conference games. Beat Tulane at home and UNO on the road that puts you at 36-20. With the hot streak and the sweep of CSF earlier in the year that should put you in a regional even if we go 0-2 in Hoover.

With that said going 9-3 in the last 12 conference games in near impossible( at least for the way we have played the last 6 weeks).

we made it as the 8 seed last year, won the tourney and were sent to Los Angeles.

No way we would host unless about 45 teams flunk their random drug tests.

They won't host. They are not ranked high enough and lost too many games already.

I think if they can get in as an 8 seed, they win the thing. Not like they haven't established the precedent.

The trick right now is GETTING that 8 seed. Long hard road to hoe for that one.

I would imagine since they are playing the worse teams in the sec their rpi is going to start going higher. They will not go 9-3 over the next 12 games, so I don't think they reqally have much to worry about. I actually believe most of the players have mailed it in for the season. They may not be saying it, but their actions on the field say otherwise.

From ESPN College Baseball Blog

quote:

While the current conference standing places LSU on the outside of the bubble, a strong finish (say 9-3 in SEC games) could get the Tigers into the NCAA tournament even if they fall short of Hoover.

After looking at those regionals, screw Hoover... I have a new wish list for this season

1) Win 9 games and get into regional
2) Please send us to Hattiesburg...

I've personally seen USM three times this year and I think they are extremely overrated... Solid? yes... 1 seed in a regional? Hell No

The #8 seed has beaten the #1 seed 5 years in a row in Hoover. We've been on both sides during this streak. So it could happen.
