LSU not scoring runs has nothing to do with the bats. We can't hit, period. The old bats would get us a few more hr's, but the fact remains, we can't hit.

Lsu never learned to play small ball correctly would be the only argument I could even begin to come up with.

You can't try to teach kids that have never played small ball to play small ball all in one season.

It's no wonder we strive to bunt.

I don't think that hitting and running, stealing bases, getting walks, etc. should be called small ball. Its called fundamentals and shouldn't have a label attached to it. I've seen many, many players that can't bunt, can't steal a base, don't know what to do with the ball when it comes to them(example is LSU pitcher against Vandy, 1 out, man on 1st and 3rd, throws to first instead of 2nd, to try to get a double play). Players today have grown up with the daddyball mentality(my parents paid the money, i HAVE to play) and can't perform basic fundamental baseball. Wonder why there are so many latinos in MLB? There is the answer. From what i can see, that is LSU's big problem. Still trying to hit homeruns instead of stringing together hits, mediorce pitching(especially the bullpen)and average defense. Its not the bats, its the talent level of players that is the problem.

Blaming the bats is no excuse.

If we can't blame the bats, what other ideas can we come up with to blame?
