I've got a Mock Draft that I worked ALL NIGHT on. Complete with descriptions. Peterson starting to fall in it. What you guys think? LINK /

The Panthers will not take Cam Newton and Patrick Peterson is not falling to 5th.
I'm not sure if the Panthers will pull the trigger on PP7 (I know they should) or try to trade down which will be difficult in the current situation but this fan base (what's left of it) will melt down if they use yet another QB pick on an NFL project that is considered a hugh risk.

The Cardinals won't take Peterson fifth, they'll take Gabbert. PP7 falls to 6th or later. I also see Fairley falling further than you have him. Otherwise I mostly agree.

1. Carolina Panthers:
Kyle: Cam Newton, QB, Auburn
Jr., 6’6 /250 lbs.
Eight of the previous ten drafts the number one selection has been a quarterback. It is looking like the Bills are going to be the rule, not the exception.
nice

You must not be watching any draft prep stuff on ESPN. Kiper and McShay both bumped Cam Newton up to the Panthers pick out of nowhere recently.
I'm not saying either of those guys are normally right, but it seems like their sources, who are much better than your sources, have given them reason to believe he'll be first. i mean i'm just sayin is all i'm sayin

Carolina is showing some interest in cam. I hope since New Orleans is in their division they do take cam, they dont have another pick until the third round. This will certainly doom them to another couple of years of mediocrity.

I personally think Gabbert will go #1.....kid is just a smarter pick and understands defenses better than all of the qbs in the draft. They said he almost has a picture memory which one of my friend has and I think that will translate in the NFL nicely for him to be able to figure out defenses after a year and how each player reacted an played it.

A lot of NFL insiders believe that Carolina is trying to trade away their #1 pick. If they can't do that, people are saying look for Carolina to take Dareus at #1.

Zero chance the Browns draft Fairley. Itll be Julio/AJ (whomever is availabale) or Peterson

I have the second round up to this now. I appreciate all the views. Also some great Mel Kiper quotes from the David Carr draft on the home page. LINK /

I've always thought mock drafts were a bit silly because of the domino effect.
But anyway, the mock makes as much sense as any I've seen. Good work kid. Time consuming sports writing is a thankless task, but strengthening your writing and reasoning skills is never a bad thing.

Good work, but Locker isn't falling out of the 1st round.

A few things:
Did you miss Shaun Phillips' 11 sack season?
I think them cutting him was a pretty good signal.
As much as Rob Ryan likes to put his CBs in man, it's a bad fit. Williams is such a nonfactor in man, some look at him as more of a FS.
Carter is a 4-3 OLB, he would be miscast as a rush LB. He'd be a ILB for a 3-4 if anything, which coincidentally Washington needs to replace too.
And I don't think Phil Taylor goes in the first, his stock is predicated on the scarcity of his position, more so than his ability...

Houston will provide a good pass rush option off the edge that San Diego lacked last season.

Picking Ayers officially signals the failure of Vernon Gholston.

Aaron Williams, CB, Texas The Cowboys weren’t able to get a corner in the first round but grab one here to improve their weak secondary. Williams could play in the nickel from day 1.

41. Washington Redskins Bruce Carter, OLB, UNC Carter was a finalist for the Butkus Award for the best linebacker this season but had ACL surgery in December. The Redskins need a rush linebacker opposite Brian Orakpo but that position has been the hottest in the draft so they probably don’t get their top choice.
