LSU is a historically bad #1 team. I'd rather be #2 the entire season until the final poll.

I understand the notion you are making here, but if LSU is preseason #1 in the USA Today or the AP poll and they go out and lose to Oregon, it will not have been because of their ranking.

I hear ya, and you are right...but take comfort in the fact that with few exceptions, most teams are bad #1 teams....I mean, how many times have we heard in the last 10 years that a new team that became #1 got knocked off? I do see what you are saying....with all of that, I would rather not start out ranked #1.....

This statement makes no sense, The ranking is a reflection of the talent that LSU is putting on the field.
LSU will be fine, the team is loaded on both sides of the ball.

This is correct. Lsu is a better #2 team than #1 historically. History does not lie. Stop and think about it like this for instance: If your #1 what do you have to work or strive for? What motivates you and keeps you focused? IMO i will take #2 all season long until NCG. Fact
