You do know his YPA in 2009 was higher than Flynn's in '07... or Lee's at any point.

Just saying...
YPA doesn't exactly mean anything since it is total number of passing yards divided by the number of attempts...

He throws a 3 yard pass that the receiver breaks for 55 then he has a 58 YPA....

Not the most telling stat

Can the offense at least be ranked under 100?

Yeah, that happens all the time

You could just acknowledge I punched a hole in your argument which really is just a baseless accusation...

You really didn't though, you threw out yards per attempt...

It doesn't change the fact I stated I liked that LSU attempted more passes downfield rather than safe throws. I never claimed that LSU completed them, in fact until late in year LSU was probably horrible about it....

Forget Jefferson's longest pass in 09 was 58 yards (Even after the catch) and his longest in 10 was 75. LSU tried to open it up because because of QB's (including Lee) being inaccurate and receivers dropping balls it hurt the QB's.

Which is a widely accepted measure of how to determine if a QB is throwing the ball downfield (and since we don't play in a WCO where YAC are often highly accumulated, it's really not that skewed).

Your argument was JJ "never took any chances."

I'm not going to put words in your mouth, but I assume you think Flynn did?

Well JJ's YPA and completion% were better than Flynn's which would suggest he not only completed more passes, he threw them further...

Flynn is pimped pretty good on this board but in 2007 he had some pretty average games.

8/19 70 yards vs South Carolina 3.7 YPA
12/19 128 yards vs Mississippi State 6.7 YPA
17/35 130 yards vs Kentucky 3.7 YPA
14/27 144 yards vs Florida 5.3 YPA
17/25 168 yards vs Ole Miss 6.7 YPA
22/47 209 yards vs Arkansas 4.4 YPA
19/27 194 yards vs Ohio State 7.2 YPA
17/27 217 yards vs Virginia Tech 8.0 YPA

Of course he had some good/great games as well
22/34 319 yards vs Auburn 9.4 YPA
24/44 353 yards vs Alabama 8.0 YPA
14/26 237 yards vs La Tech 9.1 YPA
16/29 258 yards vs Tulane 8.9 YPA

I think Flynn wasn't asked to do as much as many LSU fans believe and I 100% believe Russell was the better QB. LSU offense was better with a great running game in 2007 (3000 yards as a team) and LSU had a passing offense that still finished #58 that season.

How large is JJ's family? They are increasing membership on TD by leaps and bounds.

How about you eat some crow for how he played the past 2 years?

11/17 96 yards vs Florida 5.6 YPA

Holy frick, are you serious? Please go shoot yourself.

Cam Newton is a once in a decade type player. If JJ plays HALF as good as him, I'll eat all the crow you want.

The good news is the bar isnt set very high,So just playing average would be huge improvment. And anyone comparing JJ to Flynn needs their head examined.

JJ's problem wasn't completing passes in '09, it was being productive. He completed passes when it was pretty irrelevant for the most part, and didn't move the chains. When crunch time came he froze up and ate the ball, or threw short of the chains. As a result the offense became stagnant.
