The St Martin Parish School Board ruled last night that Lamar louis can play football next year at Breaux Bridge if he completes his suspension in the parish over the next few weeks.

Hope that he can handle his business to get on the field next year and show everyone what he can do!

Good Luck Lamar!

I thought it was already known that he could play at Breaux Bridge, it was the high school that he is at currently that he can't play yet

Dad's already said he is not going back to Breaux Bridge. He has a pure hatred for the school and the coaches for the way the situation was handled. What he doesn't realize that it was the school board who expelled him...not the principal...not the coaches.

Technically, Lamar can come back to BB, but I can almost guarantee he won't. His Dad made that clear after the meeting last night.

Would like if he and Travin both played at BB. Would be fun to go watch them together when they play St. Martinville

cause he would have to enroll back in BB to serve his suspension. Then technically he would have to sit out one calendar year to be eligible at another LHSAA school.

His suspension as it stands now is two years. If he returns to SMP, he can enter the JCEP alternative school and serve out a reduced punishment there. To do that, he would have to re-enroll at BBHS. So if he would transfer back to TC after he does his time at JCEP, the one year transfer rule applies again.

Hope that makes sense to you, because it sure sounds confusing.

I gotcha I figured that I just don't understand why he can't serve his suspension at caps or laps in Lafayette. You can swear he's a convicted felon trying to get extradited.

I think he had a rifle in his truck from when he and a friend went hunting. He just forgot it was in there.

He should go to a prep school or just play for an MPSA school.

In fact, he should have done it for this past season. Breaux Bridge or the LHSAA don't have a patent on high school football.

I just want to clarify with some that may look at this and say the kid is a bad seed. Lamar is an outstanding young man. He is a straight "A" student, involved in several school clubs, very active in the community, and very respectful of authority. This is an unfortunate situation he is in, but in no way should this be a reflection on his character.

Whatever the outcome and wherever he ends up playing next season, LSU is getting an exceptional scholar athlete. The sky is the limit for what this kid can accomplish on the gridiron and in the classroom.

I agree. If it was my kid, he would be playing somewhere. There are other options.

To parents like his, education is their #1 priority and athletics will allows come second. I can fully respect that. But you're right, I would do everything I could as a parent to see that my child would have access to both...even if that meant packing up and moving.

I have no doubt his parents will do everything they can to see their son be as successful as possible.
