What is your favorite state park for camping? My favorite is Lake Fausse Pointe. The trails are awesome and the atmosphere is second to none. Great fishing also. You must love the outdoors to deal with the bugs and elements out there.

Toledo Bend. But I am a little bias, I think I just like it b/c of the fishing.

Can't really say I have a favorite. I booked Chicot, Buccaneer and Bogue Chitto last night

If Bogue Chitto ever gets all their roads paved it will be a strong contender for my favorite. There are miles and miles of trails plus the beach and splash pad for the kids. Very spread out park.

I totally agree about Bogue Chitto. If they would ever pave the road, that would be the jewel of the State Park system.

I like chicot a lot but I haven't been in 5 years or so. I checked out the parks in the mandeville/Covington area over the weekend but I didn't have much time to explore

Really? It seems nice being along the river, but small.

I like Fountainbleau overall, but haven't camped there in decades. Looks like it would be good.

Chicot State Park & Hodges Gardens (Recently turned over to the LA state parks by the family-too expensive to keep up & was really going down. The state has done lots of work here & have made it a really nice place. PUt in cabins & it has a great fishing lake with boat rentals. They also put in rv & tent spots.

Another nice one, in Ms., is Paul B Johnson

This will be our second year going to Paul B Johnson for 4th of July. The state of MS military museum is great and located right down the road at Camp Shelby and they also have a pretty good fire works display over the lake. The beach also surprised me.
