Pearl? Hell no. I'd MUCH rather keep Johnson than touch Pearl with a 10' pole.
Lying to the NCAA is basically the worst thing a coach can do in terms of violations. It is a direct line to the dreaded LOIC finding, and it can turn any violation (no matter how minor) into devastating sanctions. And the problem with that is that it impacts other sports. If that clown lands us on serious probation, any little misstep by the football program might be treated as a repeat offense and result in more serious sanctions for the football team. We don't need any more "draconian sanctions" for the basketball program, and we damn sure don't need them for football.
Pearl seems like a good coach, but has proven to have astonishingly stupid judgment. I just can't trust a coach stupid enough to lie to the NCAA about a relatively innocuous BBQ to direct one of our major sports programs. Maybe he's learned better or maybe it was just a one time lapse of wisdom; but maybe it wasn't. I for one have zero interest in testing either theory.
Btw, is Dale busy these days . . . ?

His main vilolation was lying to the NCAA about it.
