Miles complimented the play of the three quarterbacks, in particular senior Jordan Jefferson, who made plays in both the passing and running game.

Miles said there were at least two touchdown passes and perhaps a third. Statistics were not kept. He said Russell Shepard caught one scoring pass and Rueben Randle another, both from Jefferson. He said DeAngelo Peterson may have caught a scoring pass from Jefferson but Miles wasn't sure if he got into the end zone on the play.

"We're installing some new (formations) in the punt (game)," Miles said. "More pro style with (new special teams coach Thomas) McGaughey, who was with the New York Giants. We're going to rely a lot on his expertise there."

And a Fall flop. I've seen both previous versions of that movie, I might stay away from the theater for Version III

He was garbage in the spring game last year. It's possible he's actually gotten better. I understand the skepticism, but damn.

1) Bowl game stats count as part of "all year"

2) There is no argument that Jefferson had an overall terrible year. Just terrible.

3) Jefferson played much better late, and I'd think the most recent games are better predictors of future success than older ones. Just because JJ sucked against Vanderbilt doesn't mean he won't be good against Oregon.

If he starts against Oregon, it means he outplayed Mett, and I will be encouraged.

I feel confident from all reports that Miles has truly opened the competition.

I am still not comfortable with JJ. . .but who knows? Maybe it is a Spring Miracle?

lets have confindence that hes improving into the player that we need him to be instead of dogging him. He did have a horrific year last year but i believe he can get better. If he doesnt i hope the coach will play the player who gives us the best chance to win. Have faith fellas

If it were Mett lighting it up in spring practice you would be doing back flips and slapping each other on the A$$ or whatever you like. Some of you just can't stand to see your less than favorite player outperform your guy and you were some of the main ones calling other fans negatigers. Get over it, we're hearing good news so support the team.

He looked like a deer in headlights.

Sorry but I don't see some light bulb going off after 3 + seasons. JJ has a 4 to 5 bad games for every good game. He is highly inconsistent and terrible at reading defenses. We won DESPITE his presence.

Maybe he received cell therapy for his brain in the offseason. Just like TJ might win the SEC next year.
