If you wanted to make a decent point, it should have been that you would love to see new film on this guy that justifies the offers. If that's the case, I'm on board.

That IS what I was saying...I think he is a great player but the video is not what I expected to see, thats why I asked for more information about him (measurables, camp performances, interesting stories, did he PIIHB?, etc.) to confirm my original thoughts before I saw the video.

Reading Comprehension...you should try it

After watching your first two threads get anchored I personally would refer to your original point as a temper tantrum.

What did I miss? TigerEggs first thread was harmless and accurate. The film wasn't the best display of Avery's talent other then good route running, solid catching, and great outside blocking. However, the film didn't have a wow factor to it with avery breaking lose after the catch or beating anyone deep. It doesn't mean he can't do it; just the film out there didn't show any of it. Any one to dense to figure that out needs a break from the recruiting board.

ETA: I only saw the first couple post so I have no idea where the thread ended up.

I never once said his thread was inappropriate that's not by business what they do and don't allow. I'm just saying,

So I guess Marvin Harrison and Jerry Rice were just decent too right? You don't have to have a wow factor to be impressive. What's impressive is the routes this guy runs, his hands to pluck the ball out the air, and his toughness as a SOPHOMORE in 5A Florida high school ball. God forbid he doesn't make 3 people miss after each catch. His film is very impressive if you actually pay attention.

Also the original poster needs to be banned just for being an idiot. He puts a first thread up saying it wasn't impressive (which showed he knows nothing about football) and then puts this up. Just go away idiot, you are just trolling and looking stupid

Syracuse and Mississippi Valley State. Neither top notch programs. TigerEgg even stated that he was probably better but was looking for more film. You don't generally see a whole lot of five stars in college recruiting without the wow factor. I'm almost positive Avery will have that with Junior and Senior film and fully expect him to be five stars.

He dominated his camps...so I think it is safe to say, don't put too much stock in the mediocre videos...

He is definitely going to be a blue chip recruit.

I know that but the casual recruiting guy wouldn't is all I'm saying. A casual follower of recruitment wouldn't watch the youtube film and say, "holy shite, that guy is a five star." Aggies two examples were two pro bowlers that most D-1 coaching staff missed one. Again, I don't know what path that initial thread ended up taking, but TigerEggs initial post wasn't negatory.

What I meant by those two examples was no one really watched them and were "Wowed" by what they did. With both receivers, you would barely see anything, but the next thing you knew they would have 9 catches for 120 yards and 2 TDs.

Watch Jarvis Landry in the UA game. When his team needed a first down, those QBs zoned in on Jarvis because they knew exactly where he was gonna be and that he was gonna catch that ball. That's the same thing that you are gonna see with Avery. When you have reliable receivers, it makes you as a QB breathe a lot easier. While his videos are more entertaining than Avery's are, they both show off their 3 best assets: Hands, Route running, and Run blocking.

You are right, for the casual fan, they watch Avery's videos unimpressed. But for the people that key into football and know what they are looking for, Avery should definitely "wow" you, especially with the lack of hands the LSU receivers showed for the most part this year

Ill break it down for you

1. I dont follow the next years recruits until our current class is signed, so I didn't know alot about avery besides the fact that everyone on here says he will be a 5star

2. I started a post saying that Avery's video was not what I expected (not that he wasn't good, wasn't deserving of a high ranking, or anything even remotely negative). Also I asked what other people knew about him (camps, awards, measurables, etc.) that make him so highly regarded.

3. thread gets whacked twice and people are freaking out starting new threads about how we are going to turn away recruits if we keep doing this

4. naturally I get pissed off and defend myself because obviously other people came to the same conclusion as me about the video

stop acting like you're an NFL scout. You'd know jack shite without rivals, scout or memphis spoon feeding you. If you didn't know who Avery was in that film, you wouldn't be shoe shining him as a five star. Cut the holier then thou shite.
