When you say "in Baton Rouge", define "in".

Here you go. There are some very good spots mentioned. Just remember to respect the properties and the fisheries.
1.) Catch and release is strongly advised for these small ponds as it is easy to fish one out pretty quickly.
2.) Leave the place in the same or better condition than you found it. NEVER leave trash and make a point of picking up any trash you do find.
3.) Make sure you follow all rules and remember that you are a quest. Often times it would be advisable to fish after buisness hours to avoid attracting unwanted attention. You would be amazed how many people will tell you they had no idea there were fish in the pond. You will also be amazed at how many people may then fish that area and not respect it.
4.) Sometimes it is a good thing to lie. Often the simple lie of "I havent had a bite all day" will keep away people who clearly are not going to respect the fishery or property.
5.) On golf courses always give way to the golfers who pay to be there. Make a point to squat down or stand behind a tree if you are in a fairway where they are playing. Some golfers will see you as a distraction that affects their performance.
6.) Remember on these small ponds it is easy to feel crowded. Try to stay as far away from othr fishermen as possible. Try to move around the pond in the same direction as the other fishermen and move quietly.

Good Luck.

False river, although large for someone wanting to bank fish, can be good. Try fishing around the docks at Bonaventures landing. Work the shallows with a worm and a rattling rouge. Then move out and work the deeper water in a fancast pattern with deep diving crnaks. Make sure to work the edges and end of the boat ramp with that deep crank and a big grub on a jig head.
