right, because I'd want to mortgage the future of the franchise by trading up 22 spots to take a guy who is somewhat overrated at a position where we are pretty stacked at...

Are you dumb. Im not saying we have to get him. But this has to be one of the stupidest comments i have ever seen. We are far from stacked. I can remeber countless times where porter/robinson/greer all got burned this year. You're other statement had me picking my jaw up from the ground. Overrated? That a joke? He is only projected to be a top 3 pick and you're saying he is overrated? Not to mention his return skills are unbelivable. It's idiots like you that get wound up and I know for sure you are only basing you're arguement on one game ( Alabama) where jones pretty much owned him i have to say. But he has been up against jones 2 other times and shut him down, green he shut him down, and many others.

Countless times? Ya might wanna review. ALL CBs get burned on occasion. You can find Greer on plenty of top 10 corner lists. 2nd Rd pick Porter is a playmaker that is solid at minimum. A 1st Rd pick backing them up bodes well for the future. Torrence is decent enough backup and ST material. Gay prolly back a lot cheaper or gone but he is a top notch #3 guy. Now in fact CB might be the deepest position on the team. To suggest picking another corner, much less trading up to draft one, is nonsensical at best.

Sure Peterson is good and won't last past #7 but he's no discussion for the Saints needs or pick #24.

DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT WE WOULD HAVE TO GIVE UP TO TRADE UP 22 SPOTS TO NUMBER 2? We have 2 very good starting corner backs, a 2nd team all pro FS, a promising 2nd year player all under contract. How much money do you think we can invest in a defensive secondary? We have SIGNIFICANTLY bigger needs than a freak athlete who hasn't played a down in the NFL. Your memory is pretty short because he has looked pretty damn pedestrian SINCE the bama game. He didn't exactly tear it up against Ark and he was completely outplayed by the freshman cb's in the cotton bowl. He'll be a very good pro I'm sure if he drops about 10 lbs ( I doubt he can play with elite WRsat 220+) Now if you excuse me, I have to go stretch...my hamstring is cramping.
