sipping and then drinking the kool aid...the Krag love process

Many here on the rant, and in the LSU community overall, had their eyes on other OC's. Meanwhile, from all accounts, Miles had his eyes on Krags, and we all know when Les has a liking for someone, forget about anyone else. The other interviewees would have had to have done something major to actually get selected. Go ahead and deny it, but that is the truth.
So, there you stand, taking sips of the kool aid, trying to convince yourself you prefer Krags over the other picks. Meanwhile, all those damn UL peeps are in the back of your mind draining the kool aid tank with all of their irrelevant HC job garbage.
So, you reset and say, "OK, I am going to take a full fledged drink of the kool aid, instead choosing to focus in on the more positive aspects of the hire, like he fact that he is not Crowton, his TAMU and Tulsa OC results, how he is a QB coach with solid experience perfect for coaching Mett/Rivers, how he runs a true Pro style offense, how we will finally have a true offensive identity, and his seemingly strong rapport with CLM.
When you do, you start to feel a lot lot bettter.
Suddenly you start to realize that he is not Crowton yet again, and then think about all the talent he has to work with, and how scary good we can be very soon.
Finally, you yet again realize that he is not Crowton, and you take a drink of the kool aid like a college freshman chugging draft beer on Thursday night.
Life is good, folks.
Drink the damn Krags kool aid, and drink it plenty.
Sit back, realize all the good things forthcoming, forget about the other OC candidates, yet again recall that he is not Crowton, and await great things for the 2011 Tigers.
It is a process, so get walking down the process.

he is the head coach you know? (therefore the only person's opinion that really matters when making the types of decisions you are commenting on)...

We simply have a want for a top 40 offense.

your posts are like the Family Circus on comics page in the newspaper. I see it out of the corner of my eye and I know it's going to suck. I know if I read it I'll feel bad about myself for even going down that road and giving it yet another shot at not sucking.
but I always do. :bangshead:

I wasn't sure if you were pro-Krag or anti-Krag for a minute there. You were messin' with my emotions, man.

As pointed out many times, at least it is not Crowton.
I prefer not to drink any Kool-Aid but see no problem with the rest of you sky is falling types going all Jonestown over this hire if you want.
I will reserve my judgment until next offseason. I know he has made a few hires that did not pan out but I trust Les has a want to improve the offense. He did bring the Cheif to LSU. I for one loved seeing all those 3rd and Chavis asswads drinking the Chiefs Kool-aid this season.

LSU fanbase as a whole will always be schizophrenic.

And I bet you found something negative when your first child was born.. Blah blah

Bama is the only SEC team that has a better coaching staff than we do. I can live with that.

Bam a does have a great staff......BUT, so do we!!!!
LSU fans with their self-induced negativity (at least most on this board) are truly schizo!!
As concerns the top man, he's a great coach but, most importantly, a man of great character.....would not trade that for ANY other coach out there!!! ANY!!!

frick all that. What he did in the past is irrelevant now. The only thing that matters is what he does from now on.

Non-specific complaints like yours is actually a compliment. What about any of that is not true?

I wasn't excited about the hire and I'm still not. He did some good things at previous schools but I'm just not too sure about him.

You're a psych major, aren't you? It must be something to watch you deciding what to have for breakfast...and why!

Why is it so important that everybody has to love something even before the guy coaches a game? It's some kind of contest to see who can be the most blind Miles supporter. Why can't we just say we will wait to see the results on the field? Instead of blindly praising the hire or trashing it why not just wait till after next year to form an opinion one way or the other?
