the significance of crowton leaving

looking back on the year, it seems our offense began to click later in the season. i noticed a significant difference in the type of plays we were running. it also seemed that we began to repeat plays that worked and quit throwing in complicated personnel packages situationaly. correspondingly, the confusion surrounding the offense greatly diminised. less false starts, less delay of game penalties, ie we looked more organized and more focused. we still had the same qb and the same qb problems (mostly slow decision making and poor downfield throwing) but our offense improved substantially (and so did my enjoyment of the games). the option pretty much disappeared, at least as a bread and butter outside running game. i know that things usually get a little smoother later in the year but this seemed to be more abrupt of a change. i pretty much have concluded that crowton was the problem. not that he is damn good IN SOME OFFENSES with SOME QB's because i think he is. it's just that i think he scripts a master plan, a complicated game plan and doesn't seem to consider the strengths and weaknesses of his players nor does he seem to accept feedback from the game itself; he runs his script as if in a vacuum. we were a lot less predictable in the last several games. anyways, my point is that something happened; i think crowton lost his hold on the playcalling and someone else (miles, BG,?) wrote the script. it worked. i personally think we will improve even more on offense with a new co-ordinator even with JJ at the helm.
