The cost of hiring a coach has gotten higher. I call it the $abun affect. The minute bama paid $abun all those dollars before he ever coached a game their it upped the ante for every school and that trickles down to assistants as well.

After $abun was hired at bama we began to see made up title like Head Coach in waiting. All just excuses to be able to pay the assistants more money.

It may havebeen headed in that direction anyway but bama insured it would.

I think the Under Armour CEO, Kevin Plank, wants to turn Maryland into an Oregon-esque program. I think he's a graduate from there or something.

yep, Plank played LB at MD in the early 90s

Plank was a walk on at Maryland and wants Maryland to be to Under Armor what Oregon is to Nike.
