Would Les have left LSU in as good of shape as what he inherited?

if Les had gone to Michigan, do you think he would have left LSU in as good of shape vs. what he inherited from Nick Lou?

About the same.
WIth Mett at the helm (depending on how he turns out) you could argue better. If the recruiting class stayed in tact, it would be better, imo.
It's really hard to say this class is better than Bowe, Dorsey and that whole group.

I think it is in better shape now than then. Great young players here.

better:
9-4 and bowl loss
v.
11-2 and bowl win
One coach sought other challenges,
One coach stayed

14-10 in SEC play and no west titles in 3 years. Worse. People are being hopeful next year we will win the west.

To Les' credit, the West is MUCH tougher now than when $$$$$ was coach. Back in the early 2000s, it really was a two-team division - Auburn and some other team. Now, there is good competition between four teams every season. Even MooU is improved.

i think this gets overlooked sometimes.
overall, the west went 40-30 in '04. in '10 it was 57-20.

oh and without a doubt we are better. We have young studs for days.

the east was fricking horrible thsi year. But yeah, the west was pretty fricking strong. Look for olemiss to get some of it's respect back next year

pretty much irrelevant. Compare the last season, bowl results and recruiting momentum.

First...He didn't leave...Second...better not that it matters.

Yes. LSU has a legitimate shot at a National title next season

I think better, unless you got some coach in who would only run 'his' style offense and defense.

I'd say about the same. Very good overall talent and young or raw QBs. The only difference is that Les was forced to keep Jimbo and it helped give him to NFL potential QBs. Les, on the other hand, would've left his successor with Jefferson, Lee, and a kid that's never taken a college football snap outside of JUCO.
In both cases, teams left with tons of talent and potential.
