Sorry if this has been mentioned. Paige just said that Miles' contract states that he is the highest paid coach in the SEC by $1. He said that if another coach gets a raise his salary will raise equally but for $1 more. This can't be correct. Right?

That was after the National Championship. That clause doesn't roll over every year.

It was only when we win a MNC.

Incorrect. If he wins the national championship he is guaranteed to be the highest paid coach in the nation by $1. That was in 07. Saban makes more Meyer made more since then.

Incorrect. Based on what I have read, he will get the same amount per, and the contract will be automatically rolled over if he gets 8 wins (no approval needed - just the 8 wins).

Thats what I thought. His wording sounded out of sorts. Thanks

Incorrect.
The contract states Miles was to be NO LESS than 3rd highest paid in the country if he won the BCS NC.
At the time, Saban was making $3.75, and the parties agreed to pay Miles $1,000 more to make him 3rd highest paid coach.
THere was also a part that said "in any season AFTER the 2007 football season, if coach wins 8 games or more there will be an automatic 1 year extention, apon approval by so-and-so".

right, but what i'm saying now is that the approval portion of that 8 wins = rollover clause is gone
could be wrong, though
