The man has shown respect and loyalty to all involved parties.

Proud to have him as a coach

No, he worked the system to get a better contract. IF you think anything is different, you're quite a simpleton.

Wow Mafia, your cynicism is getting to be off the charts. Did your uncle touch you inappropriately when you were little?

Where has he shown proof Les turned anything down? Please show me proof he turned down a job offer first.

Second, show me he didn't get paid a ton to stay. Les is a good man, but some of you really are trying to make him out into some messiah.

This. It amazes me what some people think. I love Louisiana and LSU, but use your brains for a minute. For coaches, college football is a business.

Coach Miles will not change who he is for anyone. He has old school values and will live/die by them, regardless of what ESPN says. That is called character and there is a whole hell of a lot to be said for that.

Please.
-They just got manhandled by a team miles owns
-miles has an average of 10 wins in a conference that has won the past 5 NC
-one of those NC's he himself took home
-he is a "Michigan man"

Same character for a man that straight up lied to his entire team, assistants, etc at OSU, right?

Again, Les is a good guy, but some of you people are blind if you think he did this for anything more than a better contract either here or at UM. Just wait until you see the details of his contract before claiming what a glimmer of hope he's been.

I couldn't agree more! Miles is a classy, classy guy in a world populated by snakes like Bobby Petrino. I'll never forget what he did after Kentucky beat us in OT back in '07. Because the UK students rushed the field, Les couldn't find Rich Brooks to congratuate him. Instead of letting it go, he sent word to the UK locker room and asked Brooks to meet him on the now-deserted field, where he shook his hand and congratulated him. And did anyone notice that after the UT game this year, when Dooley just headed for the locker room, that Les ran all the way over to him across the field and shook his hand?
Have you noticed that, with the exception of the coach who we had to fire for recruiting violations, Les has NEVER fired a coach? If he wants someone to leave, he arranges for that person to take another position. He just doesn't want to embarrass anyone if he can help it. That's also why he never "called out" JJ for his bad play over the course of the season. It's just not who he is.
I'm not surprised at all that he agreed to meet with Michigan. He's got too much loyalty to snub his alma mater. But in the end, I think he reaized that he has one of the best jobs in the country right here, with players and a staff that are, in turn, extremely loyal to him. I'm nto trying to say that Les is a saint, but he is an all around decent guy, and like you, I'm proud to have him as my coach.

same here. he is human as everyone else and makes mistakes but the way he handles himself on and off the field is nothing but class.

The most overused cliche in all of sports. For coaches, college football is about competing and winning.
