I'm just starting to get into deer hunting this year and I was wondering what a good entry level brand would be
I was thinking in a 270 or 308 and I've looked at tikka and sako so far
Any help?

Savage is a great entry level brand IMO.

I shoot a Tikka T3 and love it..Small and light and easy to carry around.

This. Or a Remington 700 .270. Great gun. Throw a leupold vari xIII and you got a deer rifle.
Weatherby also makes a fine rifle. But they are pricier

Savage has made huge gains in the last few years, a great product for the $, also the remmington 700 is a true tested rifle. As has been said on here multiple times spend your money on optics not guns, just about any rifle off the shelf can out shoot 90% of the people buying them

I was looking at under $1000 and around like $500 or $600 and the ziess conquest for $400

Honestly, I'd go with the Remington 700 just because of it's long standing name as being a reliable gun. All of my predecessors used em and they were real hunters.

Aren't the 700s like $1000 though?

Have no idea.
All of my rifles have been passed down and given to me as Christmas gifts. I have bolt action 700 .243 and .270 and a semi automatic 30.06
I use the .243 in fields for it's flat shot at longer distances and the .270 in woods and pastures. But I've mainly been hunting with a bowtech this year.
I guess what im saying is, Google it!!

Cabella's had a heavy barrel 20" model for around $550 last week.

Get the Tikka T3 and a Zeiss. You will have a bad arse rifle.
Tikka is one of the few rifles that put a 1MOA guarantee on their rifle. That means it is guaranteed to shoot within one inch at 100 yards.
Weatherby's is 1.5MOA and Remington doesn't have an MOA guarantee at all.
Last year, I made a 330 yard kill with my Tikka 270wsm (you might also consider this caliber).
Good luck!!

the 700's come in a wide range of prices depending on how many bells and whistles, but you should be able to get a low end one for about $300-350

If you go Savage, get a 1500, not the Edge.

That may be my exact next rifle. How much am I looking at for that gun, war tiger?

Very hard to beat the Rem 700 at whatever price. The action is extremely solid and accurate. We've built bench rest rifles off of them that you could just continue to drop bullets down the same hole all day long if you were a good enough shot. I've got an old BDL 30-06 that will put them all in the same hole almost as well as my .308 PSS after we pillar block bedded and floated it and did a little trigger work on it.
Get a 700 then spend your money on optics.

I don't think you can go wrong with .270, or .270 WSM for whitetail. Rem 700 is the only gun you'll ever need.
