Dallas Tigers--After the Cotton Bowl advice?

I can't begin to describe how happy I am that the Cotton Bowl is on a Friday evening, far removed from some of LSU's past bowl experiences:
-Visiting Orlando's mudpit stadium with a what-bus-hit-me-last-night feeling and wondering...who uses this godforsaken venue the other 364 days of the year? (yes, I know they installed new turf since)
-Dashing through the MARTA trying to find some bar--any bar--by midnight after the Peach and deciding that ringing in the New Year in a Exxon parking lot with a tall can of Natty Light is as classy as things were going to get.
-The last time we were at the Cotton Bowl: 10 AM. Need not say more. Worst. Experience. Ever.
So, I was hoping the Dallas-based Tiger Nation could give some pointers on having a good time after the Tigers claim victory in their first of two wins at Jerry's place.
I'm planning to stay at a hotel in downtown Dallas...is something around there going to be the best bet after the game? Is any particular bar a kinda ground zero "LSU headquarters" like crops up in most other bowl cities and whenever we play in Atlanta?

Game is in Arlington. You Might wanna re-think staying in downtown Dallas.

Don't mean to rain on your parade but it will take you at least an hour just to get out of the parking lot at Jerry World...if you park anywhere close to the stadium that is.

I thought get out of town fast would be it, but that was the old Cotton Bowl stadium

the 'West End' is downtown with lots of bars, clubs, piano bars, restaurants, etc. to hang out in, but it's a long way from the stadium for sure. It used to be a cool place, not sure anymore. Google "Dallas West End."

Don't go to West End - it died a while back. The place you are going to want to hang out is on McKinney Ave just north of DT. There are numerous bars and taverns. Not sure which one will offer the best LSU crowd, but they are close enough together to barhop.

Celebrate the Tigers' win over the Aggies at Humperdinks while the traffic clears. Humperdinks will remain open for food and drink after the game until 2 AM.

West End sucks.
The problem with the stadium is that its in Arlington, and there's nothing to do there. It will take you about an hour because of traffic to get back to the city. At that point, you should go directly to Uptown. There's a bunch of bars on McKinney between Maple and Blackburn. You can't go wrong with any of them really. If you just want to get snockered, may I reccommend the Loon. If you want scenery, the Idle Rich or the Social House is a good place to go.

You should go Uptown on McKinney Ave to the Quarter Bar; Frankies Sports Bar; and Primo's. 3309 McKinney Ave
Dallas, TX 75204
Post college atmosphere with plenty of people looking to have a good time. You can valet across the street from Primo's and the Quarter bar and walk around to several bars and restaraunts. LSU and A&M will be well represented there. We should have plenty of people roaming the streets after the game. If the game ends at 10:30 or 11:00 you will still be able to get there with plenty of time to pass a good time! The bars usually start hoping around 11:00 or midnight. Uptown Dallas is the right thing to do after the game. LINK Primo's Uptown Dallas

There isn't a true LSU bar in that area, but there are enough around there to have a good time. The Loon is good but there might be a long line to get in. Also, Corner Bar is another good spot.
I went to the Saint's game on Thanksgiving, and getting out of the parking lot wasn't to bad. Who knows if we rip the Aggies a new one maybe they will leave before the 4th.

I agree! I'm getting very excited for this bowl game.
