that's Crazy. Malzahn could jump into top 10 paid territory - up with Mack Brown - without being HC for a single game and (as so many like to point out) only 5 years removed from being a high school coach.

they could "approach" 3 million.

Isn't Mullen supposed to be getting his salaray raised to $2.2+ next year? He hasn't been there that long and MSU probably doesn't have the money that Vandy has, so I'm not terribly surprised at this amount.

For nearly 3 million a year? In a place with perennially low expectations?

If he doesn't go, I question his judgement.

Perhaps could approach means, if he win the East, gets Vandy to a BCS Bowl, gets a SEC championship or delivers a national championship?

It helps that the East is a little weaker. Gus could load up on easy non-conference opponents, win two or three conference games per season and have Vandy bowling, kind of like Briles at Baylor. If he can do that, then he'll be offered a major job in no time.

Well, every SEC team gets an equal share of bowl revenue, so technically Auburn supplied the most amount of money to Vandy to hire Gus.

Why the sudden change to take football so seriously would be my question.
