Was just curious to see what shepard's stats were this year and i noticed some good stats and some shocking stats.

Good:
Averaged 7.2 Yards a carry this year.
Averaged 7.7 yards a catch this year.

Shocking:
Had 14 less carries this year than last year. This is especially shocking since there were games last year where he didnt even play.

Russell Shepard Stats

Basically, I'm praying that Crowton wakes the frick up gives him the ball more.

Anyone else agree?

iirc, he was our second leading receiver in catches. Unfortunately he didn't have very many yards. We tried to throw it to him out in the flat, but JJ always threw over his head or at his feet so by the time he caught it the defender was all over him for a loss/no gain.

He is a WR so his carries should go down a bit. We tried to use him in space so he could use his speed, but our QBs kinda messed that plan up.

The whole offense is an abortion. Hopefully we can get this playmaker in gear.

Not really in agreement.... had he carried MORE this year he'd have gained fewer yards.... after about the 3rd game they were on him like flies on dog crap... didn't make sense to kept running bad plays.... example we FINALLY stopped running the short side option.

Now this is not absolute... but Shep didn't always make the most of what he was given.. i.e. dropped balls -- not open all that much if you watched him in isolation.

I hope next year HE does better with whatever he's given... we need him to step up.

i keep telling people to look at his highlights from last year on youtube. Pretty much all of it is him running the read/speed option and doing a much better job of it than our other QB's. Why the coaches didn't stick him in the wildcat with ford/ware/ridley with him in the backfield is beyond me.

i'm scared that he's going to transfer because he obviously is starting to think that he made a mistake coming here

If true, just based on that fact Crouton should be let go.

Hate to say it, but Shep seems like a space cadet both on the sidelines and on the field. He lacks "it" whatever "it" is. Crowton and perhaps Miles are partly to blame for his lack of production, but the guy just doesn't seem to be a solid college football player.

I'd be glad to, Mike, if he even remotely lives up to his hype and has a good year. Hope he does!

If he was taking snaps as a read option or wildcat QB, he wouldn't be overrated, he'd be dynamite. But GC isn't getting him the ball in the right manner imo.

He is a true sophomore playing with two of the worst QB in college football. He dropped a few passes but how many times did we watch JJ throw it over his head, at his feet, behind him, etc.

When he has the ball in space, he is electric. Just like Randle.

The problem is, WE HAD NO ONE TO GET HIM OR RANDLE THE BALL IN SPACE.

Hopefully, Mettenberger will do that.
