I was at the Cap one last year, and yes, it sucked. The thing is, we aren't rivals with A&M anymore, and they are ranked 18th. Why would anyone not want to have a shot at beating another top 10 team opposed to playing #18... a team we won't get any respect for beating on the national level.

Capital one bowl was just awful last year and why would we want to go back to back years?

Cotton is indoors and a big stage

I can't say I want to go "badly", but if those are the cards, so be it.

We still owe those guys for all the opening losses in the '90s. Hate those guys...

If the opponent was Nebraska or Oklahoma, I would be all for it.

I'm still going to Dallas though. It's only two hours away.

FWIW, I think TexasA&M is better than Michigan State, despite what the polls say. I will give the Spartans a helluva solid win over Wicconsin before the Badgers got rolling, but that's about it for the year. Keep in mind they got blown out by a shitty Iowa team.

Western_Mich W (38 - 14)
at Fla_Atlantic W (30 - 17)
Notre_Dame W (34 - 31)
Northern_Colorado W (45 - 7)
Wisconsin W (34 - 24)
at Michigan W (34 - 17)
Illinois W (26 - 6)
at Northwestern W (35 - 27)
at Iowa L (37 - 6)
Minnesota W (31 - 8)
Purdue W (35 - 31)
at Penn_State W (28 - 22)

No one has given respect to LSU at all this year... a victory over #18 in a bowl game when we are #10 isn't going to mean anything... at least not compared to a victory over another top 10 team, that has 1 loss and has gotten a lot of respect from the media this year.

The reason is because NegaTigers need something to bitch about instead of supporting the team that they claim to be fans of. Period. Dallas is frigid in the winter time. F that, but as a Tiger FAN, I will go where they go, and love every minute of it, because unlike you selfish NegaTigers, I LOVE MY TEAM!

so, according to you, an easy #8 team to beat opposed to a tough, hot #19 team .. makes a lotta sense to want to play the latter ..

I'd want to go to the Cotton Bowl solely because it's in Jerry's World and the Capitol One Bowl sucks arse.

That, and because we play Oregon there in 2011, and it'd be nice for the team to be familiar with the field ahead of time.

I'm not worried about who will be "easier to beat." I think that's dumb that people even bring that up. We play who we play...if we play good, we'll win no matter who we play. If we play bad, we'll lose no matter who we play.

That has nothing to do with anything IMO.

All I said in this thread was that I personally think A&M is a better team than Michigan State. Michigan State gets no love from the media because the media knows what I know ... Michigan State built a lofty record on a crap schedule. There's a reason they've only got one loss and yet still have never even been mentioned in a single national title discussion.

And me wanting us to go to Cotton has more to do with NOT wanting to go to Cap1 than anything, although certainly many other factors make the Cotton a nice alternative to the Cap1, including the stadium/time/date/opponent/etc. If the choice was Cap1 or Liberty, of course I'd want Cap1. But since the two choices are basically same tier bowls for all intents and purposes, I'd prefer the one our program and fans weren't just at less than 12 months ago. Seems pretty reasonable to me, and most logical people who aren't actively seeking an argument seem to agree with me.

1. We were there last year and didn't have a great experience.

2. Sole game on a Friday night in primetime vs. afternoon with other games.

3. Jerry world still has that novelty and we open up there next year (experience)

look up last year's bowl television ratings .. our cap one bowl was the fifth highest rated game .. more than the orange bowl .. Friday night primetime is the worst of the week .. NO promotion on ESPN or ABC at all .. Fox butchers college football .. New Years Day is a traditional college football day .. it's all people do on that day ..
