Recruiting is huge, I give you that. However, we can recruit in Flordia just aswell. I would just rather play a higher ranked opponet. Nothing against aTm, but the higher the rank the better.

If you look at our players we recruit from Florida and those from Texas, it is impressive.
Florida is crucial and LSU does seem to get a few every once in a while and they turn out to be studs.

I would guess that the point of the recruiting talk is that LSU would be playing a Texas team in Texas. That would go over well with Texas recruits should LSU win, giving them an edge over a possible competitor on a potential recruit.
The Tigers play a Florida team every year and every other year in Florida, so exposure there is no problem. Playing a Big 10 school, with which LSU would likely never compete for recruits, probably isn't that helpful.
