Generalize much?

7-5 is "winning" and it's also mediocre as is 8-4, 9-3 when you don't sniff a conference title.

Want to narrow it down to what you think "win" is?

Alright, how else can I explain it?

Go look at the recruiting rankings. Then look at the teams winning. Then tell me who is winning.

Why do Texas, OU, USC, Florida, LSU, Alabama make repeated trips to the MNC?

Talent wins about 95% of games. All the jargon that goes into the discussion after games about "adjustments" and "game plans" is mostly a bunch of bullshite that people have no idea what they are talking about say. The see a run play go for 40 yards in the first half and then another run play go for 60 yards in the 2nd half so they say... "See we don't make adjustments!"

It's fine, and it's part of having a humongous fanbase, but most fans don't know jackshit.

Talent wins about 95% of games against weak competition. I will give you that, but not when it comes to good teams like those that are top 25. That's the whole point. We basically have our own slightly better Ron Zook as head coach who benefited from having a championship team in place once he got here.

If you're okay with that fine. I am not.

BS !!!!! Talent is a label placed on a kid that some of these services see on video only. And only against high school talent. How many 2* that go pro, or 5* that go bust do you need links on to prove that.

No school had better access to talent than Notre Dame did, yet look what happens when you put ineffective coaching in with some of the best talent in the country

1981–85 Gerry Faust 30 - 26 - 1 .535
1986–96 Lou Holtz 100 - 30 - 2 .765
1997–01 Bob Davie 35 - 25 .583
