Ultimately his not playing what we percieve as the best QB? If he started the best qb and gave us the best chance to win by wider margins, would the fan base ease up on him?

Once he started playing Lee, which was what the fanbase had been screaming from week one, LSU starts looking like a decent team.

He wouldnt have caught as much hell if he would have started Lee to begin with.

No. les and the assistants are the only ones who truly know the dynamics of the plyers capabilites and limits. All we can do is speculate, which is why all the bitching makes it all the more retarded.

Do some of honestly think you know more then a top paid coach that has been doing it all his life? That is ludicrous. Like it or not, he knows how to coach. His public speaking is the reality of the perception.

Make him a smooth talker and all the sudden he is a genious. I PROMISE you. Even the clock management would be overlooked for the most part.

The root of my frustration with Miles is that the team almost NEVER appears to fulfill its potential. Last week is a perfect microcosm. We won the game, but we should have and would have dominated had we limited stupid errors like missed lane assignments, penalties, and turnovers.

The 2007 season is a macrocosm. We won the NC, but we needlessly lost two games to inferior opponents.

I want the team to consistently play to its potential.

The only mistake he might have made is not focussing his practice time enough with JL. I think he stated having JL take more snaps with the first team probably only a few weeks ago. He had to be patient on when to put JL in. If he would have thrown him in not fully prepared it might of backfired.

I think he has handled it wonderfully.

So would the fan base overlook the poor play of 5 star players, the end of game debacles and poor play calling if Lee starts and plays significantly?

You cannot quantify the outcome of all the random events of a football game.

To say we should of won by this much or that much is just stupid.

I really don't understand what you are saying. Yes we have alot of playmakers and i think the kinks are getting worked out. It's kind of hard to showcase five star tallent when you have no one to get them the ball.

And this is the source of frustration for me because I feel that we DO have someone who can do that.

I'm just wondering because I feel this same way. I think the number one frustration with Les at this point is that we percieve that he isn't playing the best QB at this point. We all can see what needs to be done but it just isn't happening. Some of the other things could be overlooked and forgiven because we are winning at this point.

Pretty much sums it up. The more 1 certain guy on our team plays, the better the offense has gotten. I guess you could say all those negatigers were right about the QB situation.

My frustration was him kicking RP off the team and not having just as good a QB behind him.

As defined by reason and as determined by application of rudimentary logic.

For example, no one in their right mind would claim that LSU has fulfilled its potential over the last two weeks.

Tennessee was a vastly inferior team by any meaningful metric (projected draft picks, record to date, depth of talent) and yet we needed a miracle to beat them because (1) we committed foolish turnovers; (2) we suffered numerous needless penalties; and (3) we couldn't employ basic clock management at the end of the game.

No, it has little to do with playing a QB. Recruiting a good one, however, is another story.

Not making continuous mistakes that give the opponent clear chances to win the game.

Us.
