play calling on 1st. downs in the 2nd half

I thought crowton lined us up in the "I" and ran it streight up the big arse middle too much on 1st down in the 2nd 1/2.Anyone else see it this way ?? It put us in 2nd and long lots of times.I think the play calling did improve some .I would like to see run plays on first down out of some formation other than the "I" .If no other reason than too keep the other teams from just sticking 8 in the box

in the 4th quarter we ran it up the middle on 1st and 2nd down every drive except the game winning drive. I don't know why the coaching staff kept insisting on putting both JJ and Lee in 3rd and long.

I agree....First down seems to always be a conservative down with our play calling and obviously the opposing coaches are stacking the box because of this. You have to keep the defense guessing and we have become very predictable this year. JL is having to convert too many 3rd and longs IMO. With JJ, that's interception time.

.....or at least maybe a wildcat (wildtiger) w/Shep anything but the I /8 men in the box form.
