I'll be staying about 3 miles from the stadium. How is the cab situtation getting to/from downtown or midtown? Are there any cabs available after the game, or is it more likely that I'll have to wait a couple of hours?

Never taken a cab to the game, so I don't know. Best thing to do is ask if your hotel offers a shuttle of if there is a shuttle within walking distance.

If you have to wait a couple of hours, you can either A.) walk downtown and sit it out in one of the bar/restaurants downtown or B.) Deal with the crowds in one of the places right off campus

be prepared to wait a while for a cab. They dopn't have many. Keep the personal number of the first cab driver you come across and call him directly.

at 2 am it will be impossible to get a cab. if you go out, leave at 1 to call a cab to beat the rush

Bee Rye probably knows the bus situation on game days much better than I do (I've never been in Gainesville on a weekend, much less a game day), but there is a great public bus system here: LINK

I'd be surprised if the buses are not running on some sort of modified game day schedule.
