like, hard working in practice?

good thing our coaches in high school didn't have that mentality or we would have never won state. They put the best players on the field, even if they were lazy in practice. The hard working ones that weren't as good were used as leverage by the coaches during games..."if you don't pick it up out there, i'm going to put so-and-so in, lord knows he's earned it!!!"

In high school there is such a talent difference in the great high schoolers and the average guys that talent alone will make a difference. I think your coaches did a horrible job, the valuable life lessons that football can lend a kid were flushed in favor of an easy win.

The vast difference is that in top level college ball, EVERYONE WAS A GREAT HIGH SCHOOLER........hard work is the difference maker.
