Landry knows his stuff, and I don't say that because I agree with his analysis in this case.
Jefferson IS effective when sprinting out of the pocket with the option to throw or run. We saw demonstrations of that in his first few games, including the Peach Bowl win over Ga. Tech. He's challenged as a pure pocket quarterback, and downright awful running the lateral option.
I don't know if Landry said anything like this, but my impression is that the coaching staff has tried to mold JJ to suit Crowton's playbook, instead of designing a scheme that reflects the QB's assets and limitations. The offense looks like it was built around Flynn/Perriloux.
