Saban would not tolerate not giving it 100% from either the players or coaches, and there was not question how pissed he was in his comments after the game if they didn't meet his watermark. Miles on the other hand, seems to always look for the positive spin where truly, last night's second half, there were little to NONE. Just once, I would like him to get pissed and act as if he demands some serious changes.

Last night's second half was just plain disgustingly ugly as hell. Embarassing, and does not give me any hope at all that very much will be changing. Sorry, I know it's the first game, but that's just the way I see it in all honesty.

Maybe that is the reason why his players love him and we get quality assistants. Miles never blames the assistants.

I do agree that the second half play calling by Crowton was atrocious. I thought Jefferson made progress then the two horrible passes when pressured were inexcusable. The interception and intentional grounding. We are in trouble with the right side of the OLine. T-Bob is not a guard and we better have a replacement. I was wrong about Hurst, who I thought would be great. He was ineffective. Will they release how he graded out?

Quality assistants?

Saban did not lose a regular season in his 2nd and 3rd year back. Consider our superior talent left by Saban, we are in a decline solely due to our incompetent coaching.

And it starts at the Top with the bumbling idiot.

Saban chewed a roast off of our backup QB's arse the last play of the game. He coaches until the very end of the game. I mean he was raising hell tearing his headset off because the guy did the victory formation wrong and didn't let enough time run off the clock before he snapped the ball. Saban went nuts and then after they ran the last play he went out on the field straight to the QB and explained to him exactly what he did wrong before he went to meet the other coach.

The guy coaches non stop every day all day long.

I live in the now, and it doesn't matter if I wanted him back. He isn't coming back. I just look at Saban as a coach who is coaching, and Miles as more of a PR man. I have NEVER liked a diplomat for a coach. I just appreciate the kind of coach Saban is. Maybe not the man, but the coach and the coaching style without question. It's the framework for proven success, is it not?

the difference is that Saban (and many others) knows how take his foot and step on the other team's neck when they are down

Les lends a hand and helps them get back up

The most glaring difference is that Saban coaches at Alabama and Miles coaches at LSU.
Make a decision, do you give your loyalty to a coach or to the school?

First of all Bama was playing San Diego f'n State.

If anyone can remember how Saban plays against real teams, especially in big games, when he has a big lead he constantly sits on it and allows the team to come back.

ETA: that is one of the very things I think of Saban when someone mentions him.

My loyalties and my love are at LSU, which is why it upsets me so when I witness such consistent under-acheiving on the part of those who I love so much. If I didn't love LSU with all my heart, I wouldn't care enough to bother to even post. But I do LOVE LSU, and know that they can not only do better than what they are presently getting out of this coaching staff, but know they can, and next time, I would like to see a coach more of the school of Saban than of the Dale Carnegie How to win friends and influence people coaching class.

You are fricking out of your mind. Made progress? There were more issues at QB than what you are saying about those 2 plays. On the long pass play RR was open 10-20 yds before he threw the ball. he waited too long to try to get it to him. he doesn't anticipate the receiver open. he has to "assure" him open. Those are 2 COMPLETELY different things and he better get this or it will be much of the same. I thought the line played well considering you you lose Blackwell on the first play. If cohesion is such as big deal, then the O-Line did good. I would actually grade them as a B from last night. Jefferson had plenty of time on most pass plays.
The turnovers are shite.
we ran 57 plays!WTF!

I liked how Saban could be up 48-7 & he's pissed about the late TD that his team gave up. That is the biggest difference between the 2 coaches
