Wasn't Quan Sturdivant arrested for marajuana possession a couple of months ago and supposed to be suspended for the first half?

When will retarded LSU fans stop saying stupid arse shite like this?

It DOES NOT MATTER if the FANBASE is overconfident. AT ALL.

I'm hoping that LSU has been cleared to run a competent offense.

I agree with you as long as the team doesn't share the fan base view.

However, if you care about our national rank, then perception is important. A month ago this was a pick em. News came out and now if LSU doesn't win in a rout, the questions will linger (at the fan base level and the media pundits). I was just pointing out that the team we are playing still has a really tough defense, even w/ the losses. (The secondary does look weak but the front 7 are probably better than all but two teams we will play). So we shouldn't be surprised if this is not a blowout.

If we win all our games it won't matter but I admit I like to see LSU climb in the polls. Given the view of this game, we could play very well, win, and our win will be discounted if the margin isn't wide enough.

So my point was two-fold: first, the fan base should NOT be as overconfident as they are. Second, if we don't dominate, we're going to get no love in the polls. These are my observations. They only matter in the short term. But they will matter.

The perceptions of the fan base and the perceptions of the media are two different things. Coaches, media members and others that pay attention to college football know that UNC losing some starters on defense is not the same as ULL or McNeese losing starters. LSU is still playing a tough opponent, one who will be super motivated to win now that they are "clear" underdogs. Either way, I think that a close win will not look as bad as some on this site think. Take care of business against a tough OOC opponent, win the first two SEC games and then beat WVA, and we head into a tough Tennessee game at 4-0. At that point, no one will give a shite if we won this game 35-3 or 21-17.

Either way...

You guys got me! I honestly didn't think they would keep them out of the game.

Still don't see how Quinn is playing if Little and Austin aren't but that doesn't matter anymore.

So I was wrong that he was going to be suspended for his drug arrest? Kind of suprised that a player getting arrested for a drug possession wouldn't be suspended

You give the media too much credit doc!

Regardless, we gotta live with the fan base and their bitching that we didn't win convincingly enough.

I hope I continue to be wrong in my predictions re: UNC and we blow their doors off!

Oh I was dead wrong. I was too cynical about UNC. Maybe I'm too used to SEC schools and their suspension tactics (eg, Urban).
