The opposing defenses will again play heavy against the run
Didn't happen last year.
It's actually the exact opposite of what you said. LSU has to be able to run the ball to improve on offense. Our rushing game last season was one of the worst in the NCAA. Teams schemed to stop the passing game.

I believe it's exactly what happened last year. Opposing teams didn't respect our QB play, so they stack the line to stop the run, and if it was a pass play, they would simple put the pressure on JJ where he would take the sack. Granted, there were a few great offensive lines who could run regardless of a lack of a passing game, but in general, the passing game must present a threat to keep the defense honest.
If JJ does not improve on his reads and getting rid of the ball, you will see the defenses stacking the line play run first and rushing the QB if the play turns out to be a pass.

not quite accurate, IMO...Crowton's formations tended to give away run and pass (spread most of the time on passes, I and split on runs), opposing D's didn't have to do anything special to limit the effectiveness of either the run or the pass. In addition, the variety of throws made by JJ last year made it easier for the defense to play the passing game.
Personally I don't think the offense will be effective until he can pick a scheme and stick with it. Both QB's would benefit greatly from a play-action style and dump the 4 & 5 wide stuff.
