Those games were classics. I was a senior in HS and went to "the game" at Tulane Stadium (I think it was the last one I attended there). It was great - LSU won 21-7, but Tulane put up a plucky fight under the leadership of Sr. QB Bobby Duhon. LSU's 3 TD's were scored by TB Tommy "Trigger" Allen.

John Ferguson was such a presence in LSU lore in those days that even if you went to the game live, you brought your transistor radio so you could "hear" what was happening.
