5. LSU: Even though Jordan Jefferson didn’t clearly separate himself this spring, he’s coming off a decent season numbers-wise. He just needs to take that next step and be more instinctive. Part of the reason the Tigers gave up so many sacks a year ago was because he held onto the ball too long. If Jefferson doesn’t play well early, he has Jarrett Lee on his heels. Lee outplayed Jefferson at times this spring, but he’s also the same guy who threw 16 interceptions two years ago -- seven of those returned for touchdowns.

Very generic but accurate. Its JJ's year to make his offense better.

If Jefferson is bad enough that he needs to be replaced by Lee, then it's going to be a very long season.

I thought u were talking ab team not qb position...

Only if your assumption is that JJ can improve and JL cannot improve, which would be totally wrong and a bit surprising coming from you.

bet you were one unhappy camper after spring game.
You "JJ is head and shoulders above JL" people never cease to amaze me.

Absolutely nothing to argue, these are pretty much taken for fact, outside a few myopic individuals.
What happens this season is more important, and JJ can shut everyone up by making his offense better. Its all on him, not a bunch of internet banter.

Personally, I don't think either can make drastic improvements under Crowton unless Gonzales really is as incredible a coach as some believe him to be.

Yeah, kinda my point of view too but feel both can benefit in the long run from basic experience.

Nah, neither will ever get any better. Name a QB that improved from his true sophomore to junior to senior season...

Yeah, they were both awful in the spring game. How is that supposed to make me feel any different about my statement?

Comparing 2008 and 2009, Jefferson is clearly better than Lee. Now, I won't go as far to say "head and shoulders" better. But definitely better.

Ok, now name one that has done so with Gary Crowton running the offense.

Touche'...but I haven't kept up with his QBs progressions at other jobs, and he hasn't had one go from sophomore to junior yet at LSU.

Just reminding that JJ was a true sophomore, and his stats were as good or better than even some "superstar" QBs when they were true sophomores. Go check Rohan's sophomore stats, then his senior season. IMO, one of the top 3 QBs ever at LSU.

In some areas, definitely, but not all.

granted a spring game isnt the most ideal measuring stick but in all fairness and in most other LSU fan's pov's JJ was the awful one... JL certianly wasnt great but he clearly outperformed JJ... to say he was awful just isnt so.
Better than not throwing interceptions and taking off and running with it bc he doesnt know where to throw the ball.... yeah Ill agree he's def better there.

Other than pure arm strength, I'd be surprised to hear a convincing argument that Lee was "better" than Jefferson in a certain area. Now, realize this comes with the disclaimer that both may have been bad in the same area.
