Mullen, Petrino, Nutt all have lesser teams than Miles but get them to play to the level (or higher) of LSU and beat LSU. This is what makes great coaches, not so much the ability to win when you are loaded, but to win and be competitive with the elite when you are NOT loaded.
Les Miles has shown so far that unless he is LOADED he cannot get the team to play at a high level. This year will tell the tale for Les. If he fails again with another substandard, unremarkable year with what some would consider still superior talent to Nutt and Petrino, he is done.
