Anyone else amazed at how realistic it looked for '93. There is only one point in the movie when it is obvious the dinosaurs are fake. That's when they are petting the brachiosaurus in the tree.

the effects in this movie hold up so well even after almost 20 years.

If only Laura Dern's acting held up as well.

That was the only flaw in the movie (for me). That and the little girl couldn't act (but she was a little girl).

i assume i am not the only one watching SyFy?

The animatronic where the T-rex is trying to eat them out of the truck is a bit weak, but when the flip to the CGI full body its pretty sweet.

interestingly enough, i also watched T2 today as well..

these two movies had some of the best cgi ever.

i mean yes avatar is pretty, but it lacks soul.

I think its funny when you watch a lot of movies when they first come out, you are like "HOLY shite that looks real!" Then 10-20 years later you are laughing how bad it looks, as if reality was any different looking back then to now.

That's the channel I'm watching.

its because we become accustomed to things that look like avatar... which looks great but lacks the soul that jurassic park has.

This was the first pg13 my brother and I were allowed to see when we were kids. I still love this movie. The kitchen scene with the raptors is still my favorite. T-rex dominating the SUV's in the storm is a close second.

I like when Goldblume is sitting in the truck wounded and he hears the Trex coming and they haul arse down the road with the Trex stomping shite behind them.

Even more amazing to me is that Star Wars was done in 1977.

A visual representation is the only way to do this justice.

the dinosaur from the tree scene was the worst looking part.

I was in my late 20s, married, and in grad school when I saw Jurassic Park. First thing I did when I got home was call my mom all freaking out about how realistic it was. It was like I was six years old and had just watched watch a fire truck go by sirens-a-blarin' or something.

Haven't been that excited about a movie since (except maybe Anal Sluts 9--but I didn't call my mom afterward ).
