because it makes their qualification ridiculously easier. That also assumes that half their teams will always be this strong.
last world cup they had 4 teams in, 3 made the round of 16, 2 made the quarters, and none made the semis.
in 2002, they had 5 teams in, only 2 made the round of 16, and only one went further (Brazil), making the final and winning it.
Doesn't this seem like a knee-jerk reaction, to give them an extra slot based on this world cup? and it's not even over yet...
