I agree that it's not really comparable.
They both require skill, but they also require a decent amount of "luck."
With a PK, you have to guess the right side, or your SOL. Then you still have to read high or low, and try to parry it wide or catch it. But getting the side correct is 75% of it.
With a fastball, if it's an inch higher or lower, you'll miss, but as long as you have the bat going through the same zone as the pitch, you'll hit it decent ways, just by physics alone.
