With the Big 12's recent changes along with an unsure long term future, what do you think our chances are of pulling some of the good, young coaches from Texas esp. a guy like Muschamp if Miles were to be replaced or Applewhte if Crowten were to hopefully be replaced at the end of this season?

Muschamp is about to have the greatest college football job. Easy conference, easy recruiting, lots of money. He ain't going anywhere.

Didn't Alabama run all over Muschamp's defense?

Champ is going to be head coach at Texas...no way he is going anywhere. Besides didnt he already have offers in the SEC and he turned them down. Too much money where he is.

Easiest recruiting, most money, easiest path to NC.

The only way he leaves is if Mack tells him he's staying the head coach for 20 more years.

Certainly, nobody who is a football guy would use one game(especially a national title game), to get at what it is I think you are trying to get at.

Texas allowed 16 points/game in 2009. While that is not spectacular, it is a drastic improvement from the 25 points/game that Texas allowed in 2007, the season before Muschamp was hired.

even if the big 12 does dissolve eventually, texas will not be affected by it. muschamp isn't going anywhere.

Deitzel nor McCLendon had been head coaches before coming to LSU.

Stoops and Richt had never been head coaches before going to UGA and OU.

No, your post was not sufficient

Even if he told me that, I don't know if I'd go anywhere else. Besides Florida, Texas is probably one of the best jobs in the country.

You'd rather stay on as head coach? YOu wouldn't want to increase your financial statement by becoming a head coach?

I know Mack Brown won't stay 20 more but the UT atheletic director decided not to retire recently anytime soon. Brown want's to be AD but won't step down as head coach until he get's that promotion. Muschamp either waits patiently (collecting close to $1M per year as a coordinator) for the best coaching job in college football or bolts for a head coaching job so he can be The Man. Georgia is a distinct possibility after this season. Why not LSU?

If something crazy happened and Richt were fired, Muschamp and his agent would have to put Mack and Texas folk on the spot and find out when exactly Mack expects to step down. If they won't give him an definitive answer, he might bolt.
