I am battling a liberal right now on the moratorium and need some percentages to back me up.I am trying to find out some facts about what the percentage of US oil is "harvested" from the Gulf of Mexico waters versus what is harvested from land rigs in the U.S.. Anyone know?

and what difference does it make where it come from?

If it comes from Venezuela or the Saudi princes,

its the same to you at the pump.

the oil cartel controls.
1. supply
2. price.

YOu seem to think that oil has USA stamped on it.
Its a commodity and it is sold at world market prices.

ONLY if you had a sovereign oil company, which contracted the wildcatting and drilling and you owned ALL the oil that came from a well, would you get a price cut on the oil.

Any oil that comes up from LEASE is not your oil and not your COUNTRY's oil. It belongs to the leaseholder.
You get a little percentage via the lease contract.

If you had a sovereign oil company, you would own every drop of oil and gas that came up and profit from it depending on your costs and the price you can gouge.

PS> they have not stopped gulf wells from producing. we have stopped DRILLING.
